Achelion is built for a specific kind of capital partner.
Before providing access to our investment philosophy, operating systems, portfolio framework, and fund materials, we first want to determine whether we are aligned on something more important:
How capital should be managed when markets become uncomfortable.
We do not believe the relationship between an investment manager and an LP should begin with a pitch.
It should begin with expectations.
Our approach requires patience, independent thinking, disciplined risk management, and the willingness to act differently from the crowd. There will be periods when we hold liquidity while others are euphoric, deploy capital while others are frightened, or maintain conviction while headlines and short-term prices suggest otherwise.
That approach only works when our LPs understand it before capital is invested.
For that reason, access to Achelion’s private materials is intentionally limited.
We are not trying to gather capital from everyone.
We are looking for LPs who understand our philosophy, trust the process by which decisions are made, and share our long-term view of risk, optionality, and compounding.
We interview our LPs just as seriously as they evaluate us.
The purpose is not exclusivity for its own sake.
It is alignment.
Because the worst possible time for an LP and an investment manager to discover that they see the world differently is during a drawdown.
If we believe we are on the same page, we will provide access to the private Achelion site and continue the conversation.
Alignment first. Capital second.
